The WENA-sponsored and community-created ceramic tile mural "Heart of the Neighborhood", an outdoor 6' x 8' mural located on Harvard Place, is dedicated by its designer and "mother", SU professor and former WENA Board member Marisa Temple. The tiles were handmade by Community members, many of them children. Future plans call for many of the remaining tiles to be used under the front windows of the Petit Library on Victoria Place, at Westcott Street.

A happy Jae Evangelisti poses with artist/project coordinator Marisa Temple at the Mural dedication. Jae (as Evangelisti Construction Company] successfully engineered the installation of the hundreds of hand-made ceramic tiles created and glazed at the 1998 Westcott Street Cultural Fair by neighborhood children and conceptualized by Maria after many donated hours. More tiles yet remain, perhaps to be installed at the nearby Petit Library. Coincidentally, Jae is also a WENA Board member and discounted labor and materials to make this project happen. Thank you both!
